Cotyledons 20¬25 mm long and 2 mm broad, petioled, lanceolate. True leaves bipinnate, leaflets 1¬4 cm, ovata¬lanceolate, deeply pinnatifid and toothed, often hairy below. Lower leaves long-petioled, upper leaves short-petioled. Stems erect, 50¬150  cm, branched, hairy below, hairless adove, furrowed. Flowers in compound umbels, each of 8¬10 rays, white. Reproduces by seeds (germination slow) and vegetative by rooting new tap roots from adventiious buds on the root-neck. Site: meadows, pastures, orchards, headlands, ruderal and prefer wet, humus- and nutrient-rich soils. Perennial.
